How your donation reaches the people who need it
How It Works
Every sponsorship on this site funds a specific item or need, for a specific recipient — not a general fund. Here’s exactly how that works, from your donation to their doorstep.
How donations are directed
Your donation goes toward the specific category and item you choose, for a recipient with that specific need. Wherever possible, giving is indirect — the recipient doesn’t know who the donor is, and the donor doesn’t know the recipient, unless a public dedication or recognition is specifically requested.
Who receives the funds
All donations are processed through registered US charities — no payments are received directly by this platform. Receipts are issued automatically. Only applications from families in Israel are considered as recipients, with the exception of relocation sponsorships and hosting/accommodation gifts for those traveling to Israel.
Where your money goes
Up to 20% of gross proceeds covers operating and marketing costs — split roughly evenly between product procurement/administration and digital/marketing costs. In practice, careful sourcing and competitive supplier negotiation mean recipients often receive significantly more value than the minimum guaranteed — any savings found on one product are reinvested into other sponsorship opportunities. On average, at least 80% of your donation reaches its intended purpose.
If the exact item requested isn’t available, a similar item of equivalent value may be provided instead, to ensure your sponsorship reaches someone without delay.
How recipients are chosen
Applications from families and organizations are reviewed and vetted by staff, then decided by a vote of the organization’s board — observant community members who typically dedicate several hours daily to Torah study. The board meets weekly to review applications and organizational decisions.
Our commitment
We work to fulfill sponsorships within the same calendar year, accounting for market availability and seasonal demand. Representatives visit regularly, and you’re always welcome to visit the communities and projects you’ve supported.
